T'AI CHI - LONG YANG FORM

ELEMENTS & 4 DIRECTIONS

T'ai Chi Study Groups with Bev Reeler.

Monavale, Harare tarisiro@goldnet.co.zw Tel:336172

I teach a regular Long Yang Form which I learned from Peggy Harper I now
have a small practice group of 4 people who do the full 25 minute Form, and
a group of students who can do the first three sequences (about 7 minutes).
With my groups, I have developed a programme of 'chi' body work and
breathing, putting particular emphasis on the elements and a "T'ai Chi" Four
Directions Sequence based on a Hopi Indian tradition studied at Schumacher
College in Devon UK.

Bev is interested in the Gaia movement see info about "A walk with Gaia" an event staged in November 2000 with choreography by Vivienne Hamblin.

T'AI CHI & QIGONG (Chi Kung) IN ZIMBABWE

T'ai Chi Ch'uan is not just one subject, there are a variety of approaches, so anyone thinking of taking up the practice of T'ai Chi Ch'uan would do well to watch a class first, consider how the subject is explained and what the general atmosphere is surrounding the class. To aquire a long Yang Form you are going to have to attend classes for 2 - 3 years, so it is important that you feel at ease with the teacher, the classes and the other students.
