Repteens was founded in August 1960 as the young people’s company at Reps Theatre. It has the objective of providing training in all aspects of
theatre for young people under the supervision of a professional theatre
director and teacher. Mark Turnbull has assumed the directorship of Repteens at Reps Theatre. He is a well-known theatre director, actor and teacher involved in the theatre scene in Zimbabwe.

Repteens is open to all young people between the ages of 13 and 19 years
of age who wish to learn the skills involved in the production of plays.
Repteens offers training in voice production, movement, improvisation,
acting techniques, directing and all technical aspects of the theatre,
including stage management, lighting and sound.

Production is an important component of the training and Repteens stages
at least one major production a year, and are involved in the main-house
productions in order to gain hands-on experience.

Former members of Repteens who have pursued a career in the theatre
include OVER THE EDGE, Dawn Parkinson, Adam Neill and several others.
Repteens meet on a Friday evening between 5.45 and 8pm in the Repteens
Room at Reps Theatre during term time. Membership is $100 per annum.
