The Verandah Gallery Charity Art Exhibition (27 July 2008)
Sunday, 27 July , 10am to 4pm
16 Woodholme Rd, Emerald Hill, Harare
This very popular annual charity art exhibition features works of over 40 of Zimbabwe's highly talented artists. There will also be a small selection of Shona stone sculptures on sale from The National Gallery.  

25% commission from all sold paintings goes to the Emerald Hill Children's Home and the Emerald Hill School for the Deaf. The Detema Jazz Band will be there to entertain you.

There will be a Wine Bar and the Vabatsiri Soroptimist Club will provide refreshments.

The Verandah Gallery 'Wild Africa' 2009 Calendar will be hot off the press!

Entrance fee TBA. It's a great day out even if you don't buy a painting - please spread the word!

10th Annual Charity Art Exhibition Sunday, 29th July 2001 from 10am to 4pm 16 Woodholme Road, Emerald Hill There were over 100 artists exhibiting - some very well known and some completely unknown!

Each year this event raises funds for Emerald Hill Children's Home

Refreshments were served by Island Hospice and there was also a Mukuyu Wine Bar and some Vumba Cheeses. All the proceeds (25% commission on sold paintings and entrance fee) goes to the Emerald Hill Children's Home and the Emerald Hill School for the Deaf. Last year (2000) it raised nearly $400 000

Keen art buyers came early and joined the rush, many people come later for a more relaxing browse! There was a place where the kids could go and paint their own pictures or t-shirts while parents were busy buying or being social! Because this was the tenth annual exhibition it was a very special one!

Detema Jazz Band

The Detema Jazz Band played all day with a break around midday for the Arundel School/Twin Arts String Orchestra.
