THE LEDGEND OF THE SKY KINGDOM @ London Film Festival UK (Oct 2003)
Ewen Findlay writes::
Finally, the Zimbabwean junk movie hits the shores of England!
We have just heard back from the London Film Festival that our movie "The
Legend of the Sky Kingdom" has been accepted and will be showing
twice within the period of the festival 22 Oct - 6 Nov. The times and
locations are as follows:
Sun 26 Oct 16.00 National Film Theatre 2 (160 seats)
Thu 30 Oct 14.30 Tricycle Theatre (North London) (280 seats)
For booking information etc. you can access their website at www.lff.org.uk
The movie has done extremely well in terms of its acceptance into various
other festivals and from the feedback received, the film was edited down
by 10mins. The new version screened at an animation festival in Korea
last month and actually premiered in Zim on Friday!
We thought we would let you know in case you got a chance to see the completed
product in London. The website is now up and running at www.thelegendoftheskykingdom.com

A first in Africa - full length Animation feature
Sunrise Productions, an innovative young company based in Zimbabwe, Africa,
will make history later this year when it releases its full-length animation
adventure "The Legend of The Sky Kingdom".
This is an exciting and unusual independent production with a unique
African
flavour loads of fun and action for the whole family. While
Africa has produced many short animated films, never before has a
full-length (90 minutes) feature been attempted.
Using model animation, the talented production team has developed an
extremely original African-flavoured style within the discipline of
stop-motion animation. The story is of three children who make a daring
escape from the underground city in which they are slaves of the Evil
Emperor. They go in search of the Sky Kingdom and the great Prince Ariel.
An
epic journey follows their escape, fraught with dangers, during which
they
meet many different animals some friends and some foes!! In a dramatic
roller coaster ride, from forest to plain, through rivers and
canyons, their exciting journey unfolds and as it does so do their
characters.
